Battle of Ragnarok by Jan Ditlev Christensen
I really like this illustration, especially the depiction of Mjolnir, the only thing I don’t like its Thor’s helmet.

… Wrong for so many reasons .. the femminisation of thor, the COMIC BOOK version of no less but most of all because my first thought was very, VERY sexual upon seeing this ¬¬ mixed feelings right now.
The whole genderswap/rule 63/etc thing REALLY exposes the sexism in geek culture. Thor (or Thora, as the case may be) is a warrior first and foremost. And you get that when Thor is male, and get’s a guy’s costume. But when Thor is female, and gets a girl’s costume, then you realize that women in comix are for the most part designed first as sex objects and only secondarily as characters. Between this image and the Captain America one by the same artist, I’m so done.
Fuck this is gorgeous, tryna find the artist. I think its concept art from the flick.

In Slavic mythology, Perun (Cyrillic: Перун) is the highest god of the pantheon and the god of thunder and lightning. His other attributes were fire, mountains, the oak, iris, eagle, firmament (in Indo-European languages, this was joined with the notion of the sky of stone), horses and carts, weapons (the hammer, axe (Axe of Perun) and arrow) and war. He was first associated with weapons made of stone and later with those of metal. Like Germanic Thor, Perun is described as a rugged man with a copper beard. He rides in a chariot pulled by a goat buck and carries a mighty axe, or sometimes a hammer. The axe is hurled at evil people and spirits and will always return to his hand.
To her boyfriend after he tried to convince her what her Halloween costume should be…
His inability to interact with mortals was far more entertaining than the fight scenes.
I am reminded of the Thor joke in Sandman about his hammer getting bigger…
