Vision Skeins & Delirium Skeins by Aleksi Briclot
I love twin pieces like this. Visual continuity across cards in a set makes my little Vorthos heart happy.

old or new?
New art is leagues better. (Also Sam this illustrates the point I made earlier)
I KNEW I RECOGNIZED THAT POSE SOMEWHERE.
Well played, Magic, well played.

“Thragtusk/RestoAngel/Cloudshifting my way to victory.” - My standard-playing friend.
Yo but for real standard would be enjoyable if this wasn’t as painfully true as it is.

Magic : the Gathering - Teysa Then and Now
Teysa, Orzhov Scion (Guildpact Rare) gets the nod for a re-iteration in the next set, Dragon’s Maze. Check out the new art for Teysa Envoy of Ghosts. Image from CosPlayer Christine Sprankle (Twitter / Tumblr)
Pretty stoked for a new Teysa
“Some lament these haunted times, but I’m a geistflame-tank-half-full kind of person.”
Rage Thrower, Innistrad.
I’d like to take a second to point how cool this concept is. Dude catches ghosts and then uses them as fuel in a magical/technological hybrid flame thrower. Just… so awesome.

Killing Glare - Peter Mohrbacher
I’m beginning to think Vraska is called “The Unseen” not because she’s stealthy, but because she kills anybody who looks at her.

Magic: the Gathering - Gatecrash art
Luv’n the Orzhov card arts. I’m also a fan of Chronicles of Riddick.
Here’s an art comparison of Orzhov Charm (by the amazing Zoltan Boros) and the symbolic Necromonger head from Riddick.
Coincidence?
I’m not saying it was aliens, but…

Ring of Xathrid by Erica Yang
An opinion that will get me lynched by magic players:
Steve Argyle and John Avon are the two most overrated artists that Wizards of the Coast has ever hired. Their work is boring and uninspiring. Although technically competent, I cannot stand their art.
The sole exception to this is Deathrite Shaman, but I will admit I have warm feelings for that card because it is mechanically fantastic.
Extra excited for this weekend now. Glad I picked Orzhov and Simic, since I feel like they’ll be fun, even if I don’t win a billion packs.
